Description
Within the framework of the OPKK project "Development of the System for Monitoring the Status of Species and Habitat Types" - GROUP 8: "Creation and Development of Monitoring Programs for Freshwater Fish with Capacity Building for Stakeholders in the Monitoring and Reporting System," new data on the abundance and distribution of 48 freshwater fish species of interest to the EU were gathered. These data were collected using methods described in the newly proposed monitoring programs, aiming to test their adequacy for long-term monitoring of species conservation status. This dataset includes observations of various species over a period 2022-2023.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,449 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Project Data
In this project the The Belgian BiodiversityPlatform (BBPF) transfers the knowledge and experience they have in the GBIFnode establishment to the newly established Croatian GBIF node. This is implemented through hands on workshop, where all relevant available information from the secretariat (i.e. strategic plan 23-27, workplan 23-27, the GBIF structure, Governing board, standards, data cleaning, data publishing, data papers, CESP, ECA nodes & the GBIF network, node meetings, nodes focus, ambassador program, mentor program, GBIF discourse community, GBIF Github repository, enlarging the national network) are discussed, and how those elements can be best implemented in the work of Croatian GBIF node. This project will support creation of formal collaboration for data mobilization in Croatia through networking and preparation of data mobilization strategy.

Method step description:
- Records are results of the project commissioned by Institute for Environment and Nature, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, a Croatian GBIF node. Records were structured in the table form and interpreted and entered in the appropriate table format and mapped to DarwinCore. Species identifications are validated by an expert.
