Description

The dataset represent records of findings of dead, injured, or sick strictly protected animals. Records are collected through citizen science campaign, organized by the Institute for Environment and Nature, Croatia. This campaign is ongoing since 2014. Findings are reported by public through specific online form or by email. Since 2023. form request a photograph for a record to be submitted as to be validated by experts in the IEN. The online form is temporarily used for recording observations of all mammal species, regardless of whether they are strictly protected or individuals that are unharmed, for the purpose of data collection for the European Mammal Atlas (2nd edition). Reports are submitted with the note "EMMA2" (European Mammals on Maps).

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,649 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
